Summary
News platform Leeds+ is looking for a social media video journalist to join the team, creating short-form video content and posting it to our 400,000 followers - including to the city’s largest Instagram and TikTok channels.
This is a busy, creative role - working full-time with a small and dynamic team from our Leeds city centre office. A NCTJ or BJTC-accredited journalist is preferred but not required and you must be able to edit to a good standard on Adobe Premiere Pro.
You’ll receive 25 days’ holiday, expert in-house training and plenty of perks - not least being the first to know about (and try!) all things new in Leeds.
Leeds+ is an exciting, growing media publisher where no two days are the same and some weekend work is required. We’re looking for someone passionate about local news & events and about creating compelling short-form video to join us at this important point in our story!
The Role
Leeds+, the city’s social-first news platform, is looking for a one-of-a-kind journalist and creative storyteller ready to push the boundaries of social media video creation.
Launched in 2020, Leeds+ has since built an audience of over 400,000 followers across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and more, specialising in short-form video and crafting stories in some of the most visual ways possible.
We’re after a multi-skilled video journalist unafraid to get behind the camera and eager to own a story from start to finish. You’re someone who’s always on the lookout for the next scoop, and you’ve an eye for the best ways to tell it on social.
You'll be able to apply these methods to the commercial side of the business too. We work with clients, large and small, to produce compelling video that cuts through on their own social media channels, following the same formula that sees Leeds+ reach millions every single month!

When applying, be sure to include a link to your CV and a cover note outlining:
- What you think of Leeds+
- Why you're perfect for this role
- Links to examples of your work, and what makes them relevant to this opportunity
About Us
Leeds+ launched at the height of the pandemic, mid-lockdown and with the world at a standstill.
